A blend born from our two favorite things, food and wine! Seriously fun to drink, this is quite possibly the most intriguing wine to make here at Markham, as the blend is about creating ultimate drinking pleasure. Our 2014 starts with toffee, coffee and milk chocolate punctuated with black pepper and tobacco. Ripe berry flavors reminisce of summer afternoons spent picking wild fruit in hopes of delicious treats to come. Rich and lush, the tannins hold power but turn velvety with a bit of black pepper on the finish. 750ml.
Toasted coconut and nuts still respect the mineral aromas that layer over the yellow apple fruit. Sur-lie barrel aging adds creamy custard cream notes scented with honey and tangerine highlights. Our 2015 has a lush, buttery entry which is paired with green apple juiciness to give lift to pair easily with food. When crab is in season, try enjoying a glass with crab cakes on a bed of spicy red pepper puree. Crab and chardonnay is so heavenly! 750ml.
The 2015 vintage produced another wine that can be aged for several years as the dark cranberry color attests. Sour cherry fruit is layered with caramel, vanilla and toasty oak. Creamy and velvety entry allows the ripe, cherry flavors to fill the mid-palate. The youthful tannins grip through the finish to allow pairing with heartier fare. We enjoy Pinot Noir with planked salmon over a bed of grains tossed with arugula and herb vinaigrette. 750ml
Fresh boysenberries are intoxicatingly floral and jammy in a single juicy bite, which is exactly how this 'little' wine comes across. Layers of chocolate, coffee, cinnamon & vanilla cola are thanks to the new oak barrels. While young, our Petite Sirah will show big, chalky tannins rounded out with more boysenberry fruit before finishing with spicy white pepper notes. A bit of bottle age will keep this wine from biting you back. 750ml.
Cabernet Franc tends to be a sophisticated grape that has the structure of Cabernet, sex appeal of Merlot but a personality to its own. Pretty floral and red fruit aromas are layered with chocolate syrup, graham cracker and earthy, wet gravel character. A bright entry shows sour cherry, black pepper and sweet vanilla oak flavors. A quick decant will help this newly released gem play nice as your dinner date. Butternut squash risotto topped with thyme roasted chanterelle mushrooms would take dinner to an entirely new level!
Our very first release of this wine - only 375 cases made!
This wine might be the perfect food wine and here at Markham we are ALL about food and wine coming together in their happy place. The poignancy of our Charbono reminds me of summer nights at the local fair as a child. The warm, night air scented with hay as it mingles with sweet tobacco, kettle corn & cotton candy. You can't help but smile in longing for another sip of the wild berry fruit. The lush texture is pretty but contradictory with its bullish attitude. It might sound crazy, but try a glass with a plate of Sunday sauce as our Napa Valley ancestors or just reminiscing on the patio about days past.
This is a vintage worthy of cellaring for special occasions. Striking boysenberry and cassis fruit is layered with vanilla, dark chocolate and star anise aromas. Dense and textural, our Cabernet Sauvignon displays velvety richness throughout the soul of this young hipster. Its jammy, ripe berry flavors are enhanced with sweet oak and cola notes. Chewy tannins create a mesmerizingly balanced but powerful wine. With a wine this easy to drink it shouldn't be hard to find the perfect match : If you pair with anything other than a glass, perhaps a buttery filet mignon with a red wine reduction and a side of pommes Anna to match the decadence.
New Release: Our 2014 celebrates its 35th bottling in all the cherry pie goodness for which it has been known!
Layering in vanilla and dark chocolate aromas, the vibrant cherry fruit flavors play against the chewy tannins and long, graceful finish. Consider pairing with a grilled duck sausage gussied up on a decadent brioche bun loaded up with a colored trio of sautéed peppers. Simple and fancy all at the same time, just like our beautiful hardworking Merlot! 750ml.
Mmm! Caramel and vanilla oak aromas flirt together with ripe, red raspberries and tobacco in a very sexy glass of wine. Our 2014 has the brightness for which Zin is known making it a great go-to food wine. The juicy richness focuses on raspberry and sour cherry fruit, but layers in cola with lush tannins that glide across the palate. Pair with spicy BBQ chicken wings and blue cheese dip, so delicious you’ll be licking your fingers and lips.

Showy aromas of roasted hazelnuts and caramel-covered apples create a decadent first impression. The sur-lie barrel aging adds oodles of texture but also allows each swirl of the glass to open up new aromas like nutmeg, vanilla and pineapple. We enjoy our Chardonnay by the glass with a chunk of hard cheese and a slice or two of artisanal bread. 750ml.
Ruby grapefruit and pineapple fruit races through the soul of our 2015 Sauvignon Blanc. The classic honeydew melon is layered with tangerine zest aromas. A decidedly juicy texture brings all the pineapple, grapefruit and honeydew notes on the palate together with the brightness of kiwi fruit flavors. A glass would be a wonderful way to start the evening on the patio unwinding from the day. 750ml.
The floral perfume of orange blossom, jasmine and fresh peaches let you know undeniably Muscat is in your glass. Tropical lychee and sweet peach syrup flavors give a decided richness to our 2015 Muscato. The citrus balanced acidity allows just enough zip when properly chilled. A wonderful accompaniment to spicy shrimp pad Thai or red curry over coconut rice. 750 ml.
Liquid gold in color with decadent aromas of peach syrup, almond blossoms and a tangerine twist perfume charm you from the start. Honeyed peach flavors are lush, but balanced with sweet orange juiciness. This Estate gem will continue to shine and improve in the cellar for years to come. Serve with a Mt. Tam triple cream cheese, fig jam & crusty bread for a simple dessert unless you're lucky enough to find poached pears with seared foie gras on the menu. 375ml.
Our new Syrah is best described in one word: WOW! Exuberant boysenberry fruit is ripe and jammy with sexy layers of caramel, vanilla soda and toasty barrel aromas. The flavors are juicy as you would expect with the lush, velvety texture for which Syrah is known. Of course, the tannins start to hold on and grip throughout the finish with a bit of bright acidity. Perhaps some finger-licking pork riblets with a spicy molasses glaze will pair with this monster? 750ml.
Violet and orange zest aromas are beautifully fragrant and complement the floral boysenberry fruit. The old vines show their power with tarry density that layer licorice, black pepper and root beer with toasty oak. The 2012 vintage is deceptively lush and pretty, but has chewiness that will suspend the time-age continuum. A nice, big glass next to the fireplace after a long day of skiing will cure all that ails, especially if paired with slow-braised short ribs over a bed of buttery mashed potatoes. 750ml.
This is everything that Zinfandel should be! It is in your face with cherry vanilla lifesaver character paired with a cup of coffee as you peruse the cigars in the humidor. Jammy fruit aromas are pretty but spiced up with tobacco and black pepper. Ripe cherry fruit is creamy, but has brightness that makes this an excellent food wine with tannins that grip through to the end. Try with hoisin glazed ribs and a spicy mango slaw or pepperoni pizza should work well too. 750ml.
