PETITE SIRAH 2016
Full of macerated blackberry preserves, violets and sassafras aromas, we were swooning as this wine continued to open and show brambly fruit layered over a myriad of spice notes. There is nothing little about the grip this wine had on our palate. The jammy, dark fruit is hedonistic where the dusty cocoa powder tannins are still a bit formidable in this young wine. Find your favorite fat to tame this 2016 vintage, may we recommend an order of roasted bone marrow with a parsley salad or a fatty triple cream smeared on your favorite crispy bread to work magic. We promise this black beauty will only get better with a decade or two of age!
